Green engineering is something that isn't really big here in the UK. The whole harvest and grow your own food is something that has developed a lot in recent years, and shall keep progressing if people keep raising the advantages of growing your own, but there isn't much in the way of marketing out there for the building sector of green engineering, if there is it’s very slow and really behind the other countries. In terms of green engineering mechanically; reducing low emissions and pollution we’re at an advance stage in the industry, for example look at how many cyclists there are now in and around London, the Boris bikes are great fun, not just for tourists but for people visiting London, and it gives a different perspective of the city, however there needs to be more across the country, furthermore look how many more hybrid cars are now in the city, we’re slowly cutting emissions as a nation, which for the economy is very bright, and for the long term future will set an example to other nations to follow.
Nevertheless there’s always a sense of playing catch up to other nations in regards to green engineering in the building franchise, perhaps the architecture society in Britain doesn't think there’s a need for it here, perhaps the more acclimatized countries use it the most because of their weather and use it to their advantage to seek various ways for low cost effective builds and be ahead of the green engineering era. If the architecture society thinks that there’s no need for it here then they are wrong, gradually over the past 10 years houses are now acquitting themselves with solar panels, double/triple glazing windows, which in all accounts is a great thing because they realize the power of the weather here, for sunlight we’re not known as the sunniest of all places, but the power of the solar panel helps massively to cut down our bills, because for them 1-2 weeks of sunlight in the summer we can store enough hot water and heating for the whole of the winter, and having double/triple glazed windows surely counts for the cost of not needing to turn your heating on because of the warm insulation that the windows help keep inside the house. So in theory the warm water you have stored to keep for the heating can be now used for washing the dishes, washing clothes, have the luxury of having 2-3 showers a day, surely adding these resources to your home is a good thing?
A new advanced way of living in the new Eco-friendly era is the need of a green roof, I've slowly noticed a few houses across Britain starting to adapt to the new idea of this clever green engineering faze. This is more of a future resource that we should take into consideration, (to have a green roof put in), it’s slightly pricey than a normal slated roof, but you will reap the benefits hugely, it’s far more efficient and yet again another resource to keep your house well insulated, and the best thing you don’t need to call out the roofer to clean your tiles, or replace the broken ones, depending if you use artificial grass the only maintenance you will need to do is to cut the grass. Now there’s one experience that will live long in the memory, imagine the view from your rooftop.
We have come a long way in the terms of keeping Britain green, but there needs to be more awareness raised in the building franchise especially because they are the ones suffering and families are missing out on low cost effective bills. Green engineering is a great investment, and a great solid foundation to start off for your future.
